WELIGAMA
The small town of Weligama is situated 25 kms south of Galle. It is well known for its beautiful sandy beaches and good fish. It is also known to produce around 10% of the island's cinnamon, which is largely exported. The bay is good for snorkeling surfing and sailing. Weligama is also known for its lacework with stalls located on the main road along the coast. There are a few hotels and guest houses scatted around the bay.
