Ukraine, Sri Lanka agree on cooperation in tourism, defense and technology
Ukraine and Sri Lanka signed a number of bilateral documents during Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa's official visit to Kyiv recently.
In particular, the sides signed agreements on cooperation in tourism, military and technical cooperation and the mutual protection of classified information. Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said at a meeting with his counterpart that he hoped that the two countries would start a new stage of their cooperation.
"We are ready to offer you various options for cooperation, first and foremost, of course, trade and economic cooperation," he said, adding that Ukraine is very interested in the Sri Lankan market. Yanukovych stressed the importance of holding on June 30 a joint Ukrainian-Sri Lankan business forum that, in his opinion, will also help create favorable conditions for cooperation between the businessmen and industries of the two countries.
