Perehera festivals are to be used to attract tourists

The Sri Lanka Tourism says “Perehera festivals” will be used as a tourist attraction in the tourism development process. Accordingly, three perehera festivals will be held at each province. The aim is to provide the opportunity for tourists to witness all cultural events at the same place. The first phase commences on the 30th of this month with the conducting of the Panadura Maha Perehera. An all night pirith chanting will be held at Galgoda Sri Maha Viharaya, Panadura this evening parallel to that. Devol and Bali rituals will be conducted tomorrow. President Mahinda Rajapakase will participate at the occasion. Thousand tourists are expected to witness the perehera.
